Our program uses evidence based activities and techniques such as; guided meditation, visualisation, gentle movement, yoga, positive self-talk, belly breathing and creative activities for self-expression.
About the program
HOW IT WORKS
These activities are combined in a step by step (modulated) process that supports the children to learn about and process any issues in a gentle, supportive and very effective way at their own pace.
All of these techniques work towards the children building self-awareness and an understanding of their own thoughts, feelings and actions. By meditating regularly and using calming techniques they can start to become more familiar with the feeling of “calm” in their mind and body. Through this practice they can then understand when they are feeling “out of sorts”.
Knowledge is power, and that power is having the tools to deal with some unpleasant feelings that may be arising. Sometimes, for a child just being able to identify what they are feeling is enough to relieve a lot of stress and anxiety.
Different styles or methods of mindfulness and meditation suit different individuals.
